Hyvee: Something you may not know

Hyvee has a policy that if they ring up the wrong price for an item that you get the item for free. I know this is more of a "how to be cheap" post and not really a deal - but most people don't know this.

They used to just take the item off when it was rung up incorrectly. Now, I have to remind them of their policy (they must not like giving away food....what?!). The manager usually looks at me like she wants to kill me and then I smile at her, knowing that the 100 other people ahead of me just paid $2 extra for the item so I'm doing a favor for all the rest of the shoppers who come after me.

Video monitor for baby

Anyone in the market for a hand held video monitor for your baby? If so, I saw this one on Craigs's list- it's new in the box. I think they go for around $200 in the stores.

Market research

I signed up to be called for paid market research studies and they just called me for the 1st time! Unfortunately, I didn't qualify!

But, if you are:
- Between the ages of 19-29
- Have a child 2-18 years

Also, the deal queen, yours truly, got a deal slammed in her face yesterday! I tried to by a pair of gently used Stride Rite shoes on Craig's List yesterday. They were soooo cute! I even took the boys to the mall to make sure the size and width that the lady was selling would fit them (she lived in S. Olathe and I didn't want to drive all the way out there if they wouldn't fit one of them). Anyways, she texted me while we were at the mall and said "two people want them...I don't know who to give them to", which I took as code for "who will offer me more money for them". Of course, I wasn't going to offer her a penny more. She emailed me this morning and said she was keeping them for a "keepsake". Whatever!
