If you are hosting a shower, having a baby, getting married, making any sort of announcement or invitation you should checkout Mixbook.com. Their printed invitations or announcements are really cute and much more economical than Shutterly or Ofoto. Make sure to order early so you can use the budget shipping. The budget shipping was $2.99 and the ground shipping was
$10. I actually did the ground shipping because I was worried the budget shipping wouldn't get here fast enough (I ordered it on June 16th and it said it wouldn't get here until July 4th with the budget shipping. However, it shipped yesterday so I think it would have gotten here much, much quicker than indicated)
I've also heard they make wonderful scrapbooks or memory books.

The $438 dollar one comes with a coin purse and a wristlet and it's new. But, if you don't mind a used one with less accessories than this Craig's List deal is a steal!

Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair

Here is a pink Pottery Barn anywhere chair on Craigs List. It's $40 and looks like it is in very good condition. A chair like this at PB would be around $130!. You can take it to get embroiodered for about $5-10 and it will look just like the ones you see in the catalog.

Hyvee: Something you may not know

Hyvee has a policy that if they ring up the wrong price for an item that you get the item for free. I know this is more of a "how to be cheap" post and not really a deal - but most people don't know this.

They used to just take the item off when it was rung up incorrectly. Now, I have to remind them of their policy (they must not like giving away food....what?!). The manager usually looks at me like she wants to kill me and then I smile at her, knowing that the 100 other people ahead of me just paid $2 extra for the item so I'm doing a favor for all the rest of the shoppers who come after me.

Video monitor for baby

Market research

I signed up to be called for paid market research studies and they just called me for the 1st time! Unfortunately, I didn't qualify!

Also, the deal queen, yours truly, got a deal slammed in her face yesterday! I tried to by a pair of gently used Stride Rite shoes on Craig's List yesterday. They were soooo cute! I even took the boys to the mall to make sure the size and width that the lady was selling would fit them (she lived in S. Olathe and I didn't want to drive all the way out there if they wouldn't fit one of them). Anyways, she texted me while we were at the mall and said "two people want them...I don't know who to give them to", which I took as code for "who will offer me more money for them". Of course, I wasn't going to offer her a penny more. She emailed me this morning and said she was keeping them for a "keepsake". Whatever!

The title says it all

Yes, I've started a new blog! It is NOT, by any means taking over my other blog about my boys! That one will absolutely continue in full force!

I've got to give credit to my Mother-in-Law for giving me the idea to start this. She said I always know about the best sales and get the best deals in Kansas City and I have to agree!

I'm not going to spend hours comparing prices at different stores but if I do see or get a good deal on something I will post it here so you can take advantage or not. I'm not a huge on-line shopper so most of my diamonds in the rough will be related to right here in Kansas City, so sorry to my readers in other states :(
